My TM Commercial experience

Ohhh Yeah!! I got the biggest surprise of my life…!

I can never imagine myself being on TV… No, not a TV reporter, not a TV anchor, not even an actor or a model.

But God is so GOOD to me. He gave me these great things which I never thought would happen.

The surprise of my life happened last Sunday. I was assigned to be the HOST of the TM Power Piso Tour – an event which TM (Touch Mobile) organized in different areas in order for them to promote their product. I was well aware that I am gonna be hosting the show because that’s what I’ve been doing for the past weeks. And so I prepared myself. I even read the script because “BOSS” told me that the people from GLOBE and Universal McCann will be there to watch the entire event including the one’s in the morning.

And Sunday (March 8) came – the event proper. All the staff we’re murmuring while I joined them inside the van. Geez, they'ree the first one who knew the changes. On our way to the area (Calinan), they told that I will NOT be doing the “hosting thing” instead, I will be doing the “ON-CAM” thing. Men, I just couldn’t believe it…!

Until I got a phone call from TJ. He introduced himself as the guy from Universal Mccann. Pero laking gulat ko kasi bigla niyang sinabi if I could still remember him. Siyempre, wala naman akong kilalang kaibigan from that agency kaya sagot ko lang “Sorry sir No Idea!” Tapos tumawa siya, and then sinabing, si TJ daw siya, yung dating nagpupunta sa station nung nasa Yes FM pa ako.

I tried my best to remind myself of a guy named TJ… Pero wala pa rin talagang sumagi sa isip ko... While nag-iisip ako, bigla kong narinig ang boses niya na tinatawag ang pangalan ko… “Hello Sir Denis, si TJ nga to, ang sama mo talaga men…” Nak nang, pagkasabi pa lang niya ng “MEN” bigla kaagad sumagi sa isip ko ang isang taong kakilala ko nga dati. Napatawa ako at sinabing “Yeah I know you and naalala na kita”… Dahil sa sobra akong na-eksayt, nakalimutan kong kliyente pala kausap ko… Bigla kong nasabing “Bisaya man diay ka bai” hahaha!

Matagal ko na ring hindi nakikita tong si TJ. Hindi ko na nga maalala ang itsura nito eh kaya I asked him kung pwede siyang magsend ng MMS para at least maalala ko siya. Sosyal na talaga ang mokong kasi nasa Mccann… Wow! And ang universal mccann ay isa sa pinaka-malaking ad agencies in the country. Lahat ng mga malalaking kumpanya sila ang may hawak, including GLOBE.

After ng ilang minutong introduction, bumaling na kami sa serious talk. He told me that I will be doing a commercial shoot for TM, and that I will be doing an interview with the people in the area. Ngek, shooting? Commercial? Hala!

Honestly, sobrang kinabahan ako. Kasi kung hindi man ako nanaginip, aba, it is going to be my first time to be on cam. I have never tried it.

Pagkatapos ng tawag ni TJ, nag ring uli ang phone. It was a call from sir Jess (also from McCann. He was asking me if I’m in the area already so he and ma’am Marju and the guy from Globe would be able to tell me as to how we’re going to do the commercial. Diyahe nga eh coz these are the people who works for GLOBE and yet I’m a Smart subscriber. (Pero I have a globe number rin naman kaso lang most people that I know of are using SMART so nakiki-SMART na rin ako.)

Anyways, 11am na nang magkausap kami ng mga taga Mccann and Globe. They gave me instructions immediately at kung ano ang isusuot ko.

They just gave me this paper na may mga random questions na pwede kung gamitin sa aking pagtatanong. And take note, hindi siya dapat scripted kasi they wanted na natural ang isasagot ng mga taong tatanungin ko. And dapat din spontaneous yung pagtatanong ko.

Nakakatawa na nakakapagod ang mga experiences ko during the shooting. Naging komportable lang ako because the staff were very nice and very accommodating kaya lang hindi nila ako tinuruan sa blocking and as to how I’m going to end the questioning. Kaya minsan, kahit na anong tanong na lang ang ibinabato ko sa mga tao.

Umabot din ako sa ilang takes, which sobrang nakakahiya na pero tsoks lang kasi baguhan naman ako eh. And sabi naman ni Maam Marju na ok naman the way I question sa mga interviewee…

The shoot ended at around 7 pm kasi merong isang girl na paulit-ulit ang take…

Just last night, TJ called up and told me na he saw na the video. And so I asked him kung pwede niya akong bigyan ng copy. I asked him din kung kelan ipalalabas ang commercial…

I’m so damn excited to see myself on National TV. Hahaha!

Great things will be yours when your GOOD

It's quite a busy month for me... Probably this is the luckiest year ever.. I should say that a lot of great opportunities poured in (which somehow helped me in my day to day living) and I'm so grateful to all of these.

I am thankful that boss gave me the TM Tour which will run till 2009 ends. And we also have the Tempra-Ceetrus hosting... And come Saturday afternoon, I will be hosting the Presentation of the Munting Bulilit at Gaisano Mall.

That's my sked this week...

As they say, when you do good, great things will come...

Uyyy Birthday Gud Naku today.... March 3

Ohhhhh yeah....!! I am celebrating my 32nd Birthday today! Wanna say Thank You to those who sent in their greetings (you know who you are)...

On the eve of my 32nd Birthday, I sat and wrote something (that i feel like i should be doing this) for the coming year...

I wish I could just relax on my Birthday but I can't since I still have work to do. Sad thing is that my Birthday falls on a Tuesday, so no special holiday for me...

These are just some of my intentions for this year: (violent reactions are welcome!)

I intend to act and think like a matured man.
I intend to put extra efforts into my friendships.
I intend to go above and beyond at my job.
I intend to buy one CAMERA for I my dream is to become a photographer.
I intend to be open to any possibilities.
I intend to drink 8 or more glasses of water everyday (since i'm not a water drinker)
I intend to get healthy...
I intend to courageously speak my truth.
I intend to be where I am, be present, be here, just be...
I intend to read something positive each morning.
I intend to laugh more (since laughter is the best medicine)
I intend to breath positivity each day into the world..
I intend to release my inhibitions.
I intend to play and have a healthy lifestyle...

And most of all.... I INTEND TO LOVE MYSELF MORE!!!
